Choosing a name..

Most parents believe boarding schools are good for your kids, it teaches them discipline and manners and responsibility etc etc.. and like most parents my parents thought so too.. Thus we (my brother and me) were sent off to boarding schools at a very young age.. (a very young age for me)

Initial days were bad, everyone just cried of homesickness ((a dreaded disease it was)).
I cried too.,  first thing early in the mornings, as i woke up and realized am not with my dad and mom. and then as the day progressed along we get occupied with the daily classes and play times., but then again the homesickness used to strike back as i went to bed so i used to sleep crying and missing home sweet home.. The homesickness as i said is a dreaded disease it used to reoccur once weekly when the only phone call from home was allowed, or when we returned to hostel from our monthly outings with parents.
This was a routine and went on for a while. just a while..

The rest of my studying life i guess you figured it out was in a boarding school and college and post college. And eventually boarding life was good, very good actually, the best part of it being "no parents".. you know as we grow up parents become more possessive and protective "don't do this, don't do that., don't go here and a lot more of don'ts.."
ya., so being in hostel reduced all that, i mean not like hostel s allowed us to do everything we wanted to at least not in school days i'd say., college days were different every student breaks rules..

Boarding/hostels had their bad and goods am not going to get into all those details., it was then as a little girl in boarding school that i started writing. i started with writing long letters to dad and mom about all the happenings in hostel and classes. i also had a friend  from school we studied together till 3rd standard and then both of us went into boarding schools different ones though., and so i used to write to her too. We continued writing to each-other till my college days almost, till before we knew about mails and facebook and orkut.
I also started writing diary's, recording my feelings and experiences in them.

I have always felt the written words are more deeper, more intimate, more honest than a face-to-face conversations. You can say a lot when written, express a lot more when writing..

It may be because when we sit alone we have all the time to reflect and revise and get the words right.

The written words can take you beyond the superficial, beyond the facades and allow glimpses into peoples inner world.

And that is why i call my blog "the written words" a glimpse into my inner world of feelings and experiences i guess..
