Every morning I wake up and turn on
the NDTV live news on my laptop and watch a little of the monotonous news of
the old sick politicians, (it’s more like an old age home or committee) then get
bored and switch to music..
For the past few days I have been
hearing and reading about the Guwahati mob molestation case.. It is
outrageous..
Am sure all of you have read and
heard about it or even watched the video of the unruly mob of people (I’d say) wild animals enjoying a feast, they are not human beings... It is horrifying and I could not
watch the video, the thought itself gives me chills and goosebums...
What is more outrageous is that such
things keep repeating itself time and time again.. All over the country, every
now and then there are rape and molestation cases that we see on the news channels
or read in the papers..
I know most people out there will be saying, ‘what was the girl doing in a night club..?’ ‘Why was the girl out at such hours of the night..?’ people will obviously point out the character of the girl saying, it was her fault...
I know most people out there will be saying, ‘what was the girl doing in a night club..?’ ‘Why was the girl out at such hours of the night..?’ people will obviously point out the character of the girl saying, it was her fault...
Every time a girl steps out of
home, Parents are worried and all they always say is, ”be careful.. Don’t talk
to strangers.. Don’t fight with anyone.. Ignore the street lofers.. etc etc..”
But what difference does it make
again, even if you do like your parents have said, it does not stop any trouble
that has to come your way…
‘What difference does it make..?’ i
would wish to ask these people who comment, those who have the audacity to comment..
Morning
noon or night, whether a girl is dressed in a saree, jeans, salwar or burkha,
just the fact that 1 is a girl is enough.. Like someone said, ‘teach your son
how to behave, not your daughter how to dress’..
And
those wicked eyes, we see them everywhere on the streets, staring at you right
below your face, molesting you in bright day light in public…
And even today people are blaming
the girl.. Even when it is out there for
the whole country to witness the harassment of that little girl by cruel
ruthless beasts...
Did anyone for once stop blaming
the girl and think what she went through in those horrifying moments, what could
she be going through now after the merciless event.. The disgust in her of
being touched by those dirty hands.. The feeling in her that will haunt her and
eat her up every day of her life…
The system is anyways crippled and fucking slow we all
know.. Justice will come and if it does in its own pace.. Some will get arrested and some will not, and the rest of the creeps (molesters/rapist/creeps it is all an understatement for these people) will be walking free.. People will resign saying
they are not to be blamed or not involved.. People will still play blame
games.. And it will repeat.. it will time and time again..
Deep down we all know we are not
safe and we are all afraid, knowing that it could come to us or anyone we know
tomorrow.. Yet, today we will talk about it and forget it, unless it comes
knocking at our door it is not my problem..
Being a girl/woman, I do not
understand either what can be done or what can I do, all I am doing is blog., Though
I know that, that lil girl and many more like her will die a thousand deaths everday in her life..
Dipthi it is sad indeed and wish the mentality changes! It will need a total change of mindset and attitude which is a very difficult task:(

Sick people and sick mentality. I wonder how such men face the women in their lives. I believe our government should impose strict economic penalties on such people, only then others will stop.
ReplyDeletereally sick i know., something has to be really done.. how they face the women in their lives.. they have no respect for women, if they can do things like this to any women..
Deletesuch things happen all over... but does it have anything to do with dress??
ReplyDeletewell, in that case women wont be able to get out of their homes in the West... so the reason is really something else..
yaa i know, such things keep happening.. and it has nothing to do with the way one dresses., but people always will blame the girls, starting from the way they dress..
